Teacher’s Report
Dates:
- RB has arranged a presentation for tomorrow called ‘out in schools’ as part of the social justice projects students are working on. May have art as expression and anti-homophobia content.
- November 18th is not an early dismissal day.
- November 27th is the early dismissal for Inter-A and will have Purdy’s pickup that day.
- November 20th – district advisory committee meeting (JM and UD will attend for Society). Lack of access to technology will be discussed.
- November 26th – first playhouse trip. An error in last newsletter; there were only 30 tickets available.
- November 28th – end of Unit 2.
- Dec 1 – 12: grade ten work experience
- Dec 1 – 19: grade eleven work experience
- Students will be starting work soon to sponsor a family through the Surrey Christmas Bureau. Senior students will organize the fund raising. In the past they have been successful enough to sponsor two families as well as continue ongoing sponsorship to Aissata and her family in Senegal.
- December 17th – Some grade 8’s and 12’s will be organizing a ‘Cinterklaus’ celebration for the morning of craft day.
- Feb 19th – School at night (discussion of possible parent information session to be worked in somehow, i.e. student choice seminar)
- Saturday early in March (exact date TBA) – will be hosting the regional Destination Imagination tournament. Will need student and parent help.
- Have run out of Husky Cards so have ordered more.
PAC
- DH attended and gave a short review of Inter-A activities to date.
- Brainstorming session with community schools representative. Parents’ idea of a ‘dream school’ seemed to include a lot of the activities and events that Inter-A already does.
- Parking and traffic flow was discussed.
- There may be an administration change
Fundraising
- Purdy’s orders coming in – pickup will be at the school November 27th.
- Gift cards will be delivered November 27th as well – and will do another round at that time. Linens & Things and Sony gift cards are no longer available.
